Finance Reports and CSV Downloads

Moving figures from a report into a spreadsheet should preserve the selected period, filters and the difference between a known amount and missing information.

Administration

Who it was designed for

Authorized Solar Survey AI finance administrators reconciling survey operations and preparing internal reporting. This is an internal operations feature, not an installer customer accounting workspace.

Sign in with an active administrator account that has the separately restricted finance-report permission. Administrator status alone does not grant access. Client accounts cannot open company finance reports.

What it does

Download accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), project breakdowns and authorized technician-pay reports without leaving the report page. The selected report dates, grouping and filters follow the export.

Use CSV snapshots on invoice review, invoice detail, project detail and Business Health. Snapshot columns identify the section, record, field and value so nested report information retains its context.

Keep unknown amounts blank rather than turning missing information into zero. Incomplete Business Health revenue is labeled a known subtotal, with incomplete margins left blank.

Download controls show progress, prevent repeated clicks during a request and offer retry after an error. An expired session or denied permission requires resolution before downloading.

Release review

Reviewed November 3, 2026 against the October 25 web release. Twelve production CSV downloads were saved and checked for populated report views. Pay-run and statement live-record verification remains unavailable.

How it fits your workflow

STEP 1

Select the report

Open the permitted finance report and set the period, grouping and any available client, location or technician filters.

STEP 2

Download the CSV

Use the report’s CSV download control. Wait for the file to save while the report and its filters remain open.

STEP 3

Reconcile the result

Compare the period and totals with the displayed report. Preserve blank unknown values and snapshot field labels when working in a spreadsheet.

Illustrated workflow. These cards explain the process; they are not screenshots of a customer project.

The practical value

A filtered spreadsheet gives finance staff a portable reference for reconciliation and internal review. Keeping source context and unknown amounts visible helps prevent incomplete reporting from becoming a false total.

A concrete use case

An authorized finance reviewer selects a service period and a state in the project report, downloads its CSV, and compares it with the on-screen breakdown. A project with unresolved revenue keeps that value blank; the reviewer follows up before treating its margin as complete. This example is illustrative and contains no customer or financial records.

Requirements and limits

QuickBooks is not required for these exports. Downloading a report does not connect or synchronize an accounting provider, approve or send an invoice, or move money.

Company-wide financial reports remain restricted. Technicians’ own approved or paid statements are a separate permission-scoped view; client accounts and other technicians cannot use that view to access company finance data.

The released control also covers selected pay-run and authorized statement views. Production saved-file verification did not include those record types because no pay-run records existed; automated coverage alone does not establish a completed payroll workflow.

Browser download restrictions remain in force. A failed or unexpected response is an export error, not a completed download. Resolve the problem and retry.

Snapshots represent report data available at download time. They are not a live accounting connection; dates, unresolved pricing, incomplete margins and source limitations still matter.
