Shade, measured per roof section. Every hour of the year.
Solar access, TOF and TSRF for every roof section, from the trees and obstructions we actually captured on site, run against a typical year of NREL weather.
Drag the sun.
Watch the roof change.
A whole-roof shade number hides the one section that makes or breaks the design. The oak on the west side matters on July afternoons and not at all on January mornings. Here's why we measure every section, every hour.
Illustrative model house at 33°N with clear-sky sun. Real reports use your site's measured 3D model and typical-year NREL weather.
Every section, measured.
Every site, side by side.
SA, TOF & TSRF table
One row per roof section, so the designer knows exactly which faces carry the system and which ones to skip.
Heatmap on the roof
Annual shade painted onto the measured 3D model, down to the corner the chimney eats every winter afternoon.
Sun-path charts
The year's sun path per section, with the trees and obstructions that block it drawn right on the chart.
Tree-growth scenarios
What the numbers look like in five and ten years, before the neighbour's oak turns a good roof into a warranty call.
In the report and the portal
A shading section in the survey PDF, and live results in your portal next to the photos and the 3D model.
Remote shade reports
From public LiDAR and aerial data, so you can qualify a roof before anyone drives out.
Portfolio view: every site's shade results side by side.
Our own engine.
Published math. No black box.
Capture what's really there
The drone and on-site capture become a 3D model of the roof and everything around it that casts a shadow.
Walk the sun through a year
Sun position is computed for every hour of the year and checked against NREL's reference calculation.
Weight it by real weather
Shade is weighted by typical-year irradiance for that location, so a shaded cloudy hour counts for less than a shaded clear one.
Checked on every change and cross-checked on every site. An accuracy suite runs on every engine change, and drone, public LiDAR and aerial sources on the same site agree within about one to two points. Reports are marked as not yet program- or lender-approved until independent engineering review is complete.
