Questions homeowners ask
Which Solar.web role do I actually have?
Fronius distinguishes Owner, with full system and settings access; Supervisor, with most settings; and Guest, with read-only access. Record the role shown for your own account and the system it covers. A working login alone does not establish the permissions you need.

How should monitoring ownership be handled during a home sale?
The Solar.web owner can nominate a replacement through Settings → Change Owner. Treat this as a portal handover task alongside the separate sale, equipment ownership and service agreements. Request a dated confirmation, then check the intended system using the buyer’s own account. Do not exchange passwords to complete a sale.

Why might a new user still be unable to receive access?
Fronius requires completed user registration before assigning system rights. Only the owner can add supervisors; supervisors can add guests. Keep the intended recipient, requested role and unresolved error together. Ask the actual owner or manufacturer support to resolve a mismatch; avoid creating duplicate system records as a workaround.

What should I consider before giving a service provider access?
Owner and supervisor permissions can allow remote device configuration on supported equipment. Ask why the proposed work needs that role, which settings may change, and how the provider will document authorization. Agree the scope, fee and commercial relationships separately. Viewing evidence does not by itself authorize a repair or configuration change.

Does an offline dashboard prove the panels stopped producing?
Fronius identifies internet or data-transfer problems as common causes of missing current data. Record the displayed timestamp, time zone and exact message, plus any recent home-network change. Ask qualified support to distinguish a reporting interruption from an equipment problem. Do not switch equipment, open covers or change electrical settings to test this.

Why can a consumption widget be unavailable?
The manufacturer says widgets depend on the required components; consumption needs a Smart Meter at the feed-in point. Ask your installer what measurement hardware and data channels are actually present. Keep an unavailable channel marked unknown rather than filling it with an estimate or treating it as zero.

What records should I preserve before changing accounts or providers?
Fronius warns that deleting a user account also permanently removes system production and consumption data. Ask support about preservation before any deletion. Keep the relevant dated reports, equipment information, permission confirmations and open service questions privately. Do not post credentials, identity documents, access links or another household’s records in a public forum.

Your decision checklist
- Confirm the actual system and your current account role.
- Keep portal ownership separate from sale and warranty rights.
- Name the recipient and purpose before granting access.
- Request the least access appropriate to the agreed task.
- Record stale timestamps and missing channels without guessing.
- Preserve relevant evidence before account deletion is considered.
- Keep credentials and identity documents out of shared notes.

Keep the handover and service decision traceable
| Keep separate | Evidence and question |
|---|---|
| System identity | Private system reference, equipment models and the property covered; redact public copies. |
| Account and role | Your own completed account, actual role and date checked; no password in the organizer. |
| Handover request | Current portal owner, intended new owner and separate transaction responsibility. |
| Service permission | Named recipient, intended purpose and requested role with unresolved questions. |
| Data boundary | Latest displayed timestamp, time zone, units and unavailable channels. |
| Work authorization | Agreed scope, fee, qualifications, commercial conflicts and allowed changes. |
| Completion evidence | Actual permission confirmation, retained reports and remaining support question. |
Example: a seller shows the buyer a performance dashboard during a viewing, but the buyer later cannot find the system in their own account. Keep the demonstration and the uncompleted account handover as separate records. Ask the transaction team to name who will obtain the portal confirmation, without assuming that a house sale changes every digital account automatically.
Example: a service company asks for broad settings access to review a stale chart. Request its proposed investigation and the reason for the requested permissions before authorizing a change. A dated chart can help frame a question; it does not establish that a component is defective or that a warranty claim has been accepted.
